Why the Chartreux ?

Cats were present in our childhood as well as in adult life (we are vets). The Chartreux cats amazed us by their calm, balanced temper and mood which are the main trumps of this breed. They are nor much lazy nor active. This big ang heavy cats found it easy to jump over every obstacle. They aren't agressive. Always look with trustful and wise eyes. The Chartreux are rather quiet breed. They can call attention to themselves durign heat.

Our cattery is registered in SMK Zory, proud member of Felis Polonia. Our cats are Felv and Fiv negative.

The Chartreux is a big cat, with strong muscles but not in extreme type - everything is well-balanced. Kittens grow fast but they become physically matured at the age of 3-4 years old. His temper is basically formed by his environment. Contacts with people are important for socialization. They love to be stroked but they are not importunate. They can sit still whenever needed. Males are much bigger than females. In the chartreux breed this disproportion is particularly visible.

These cats endear by their courage and fragility. They make strong bond with the owner, walking after him step by step. Despite their strong body build they are fragile and subtle. Many breed fanciers emphasize the intelligence of these cats. Their expression make them look smiling and happy.

This cat is not very active, patient, non-agressive with balanced temper. He is very devoted to the owner.

The Chartreux is a perfect companion for the elder but he also does well with family with children. He jumps very well. He can jump very high without run-up. We were wondering very long who destroyed our plants - once we were amazed by the jump worth the best acrobat!

He senses well the mood of the owner. We experienced it when our daughter was sick and was to stay in bed for few months. The best consolation was our Amelka (Mizia) who was by our daughter's side day by day till she was healthy.

Charteux' fur is two-layered, with dense, fleecy coat. Medium blue shade is preferable. Dark blue is also acceptable only when all body and tail have the same shade. Eyes are from deep yellow to dark copper. Eyes' color should be clean without any mark of green.
